BRIEF:

Design and detail a customised reception desk and bespoke furniture and joinery throughout the proposed floor plan for the new HQ of Jurlique in Bligh Street Sydney, situated in a new 6 green star certified building. The design should demonstrate the brand’s character and the.

CONCEPT:

The concept for the interior of the new HQ reflects the core values of the Jurlique brand, connecting their vision of only using pure and natural ingredients, and products that can not strictly be created in a laboratory. Ulrike Klein, Jurlique Co-Founder stated “Our dream was to connect people back to nature. That connection...that's the really important thing for us as human beings." This was the reason I chose the Art Nouveau period as a design influence. The space created is an eclectic, but contemporary design derived from naturally occurring organic and geometric patterns resembling forms of the stems and molecular structure of flowers and blossoms.

A horticultural farm is included as a breakout area, where staff can create and express new ideas, because this building consists of a naturally ventilated Glass atrium which helps the plants with the fresh air and sunlight.

The design of the workplace supports a range of active work styles, such as open plan spaces, research labs and café.
